I’m a multi-disciplinary Designer based between Sheffield and Cebu.
Back in July 2018 I decided to make the leap from designing at an agency to freelancing. It was something I had wanted to do for a long time, not just for the prospect of freedom and flexibility, but to avoid the fear of not knowing how far I could grow a business of my own. My half Filipino / British background definitely played a huge role in my decision as I’ve always associated travelling with happiness and wanted to integrate more of that into my life. After all, travel and creativity go hand in hand.
Being in a state of cultural limbo can be a strange thing, but I like to embrace the unique perspectives of being both a local and a foreigner and this often trickles down into my design work.
I am endlessly inspired by travel and beautiful ephemera from the past. I love minimalism but I also love using colour and typography to give brands their distinctive character and charm. Ultimately, design should be enjoyed and my goal will always be to create something that you are proud of! This is what drives my design process and I always feel motivated to keep learning, evolving and make each project better than the last.
It can definitely feel like a daunting process handing your brand over to someone else – especially with all the work it’s taken to get it to where it is today. But sometimes for growth it just helps to have that extra person look at everything objectively with a fresh pair of eyes. If you would like to collaborate on a branding or web project – or just say hello, please feel free to get in touch!
