CC+A is an architect firm based in Panama, helmed by father and daughter duo, Karen and Samuel Cohen. Karen specialises in both Architecture and Interior Design whilst Samuel is a veteran in Construction, Project Management and Quality control on large scale projects with over 37 years in the industry. Combining their joint expertise, bringing different strengths to the table, the duo has undertaken a multitude of projects in Panama - primarily architecture/interior oriented. They approached us in need of a new brand identity that was able to capture their ability to adapt to different projects, but was also able to balance out their own specialisms as professionals. They are also a very eco-conscious company and wanted to incorporate this into the identity. We wanted to create an identity that could accomodate many different project types; overall it is a celebration of form and utilises bold, clean lines together with balanced, minimal layout structures.
Triangles are one of the strongest geometric shapes which was a starting point for the brand's visual identity. The basic forms used in the primary logo mark convey strength, a subtle nod to the tools typically used in construction (i.e. trusses) and tree forms to factor in the eco-friendly angle. The colours have a bright but muted feel, adding a touch of vibrance to the brand but also working well in the background allowing the projects to take centre stage. We wanted the brand to have an overall clean and modern feel with structured layouts that could adapt to different mediums. Using basic lines and clean typography we were able to achieve this, mirroring the versatility of the firm's architectural prowess.
