Here are just a few NYFW sketches I did on my new favourite thing – a Fashionary book. It’s essentially a Moleskine, but tailored for a fashion designer. In the front there’s a list of useful resources such as a fashion house directory, as well as material dimensions for making clothes. The rest of the pages are filled with faint, dotted silhouettes – allowing you to draw outfits fast. I think it was designed with the rapidity of runway sketching in mind.

I bought it simply because I love illustrating fashion (definitely not planning to become a fashion designer). Oh and because I like hoarding sketchbooks. I’m looking forward to seeing what London Fashion Week brings this week – more drawings I hope!

What were your NYFW highlights?

These are great 🙂 I like how you've captured their movement! drawing clothes is something I really enjoy too. I've not witnessed much of london fashion week, I'm not that mad on fashion weeks but I do enjoy seeing what sort of styles will be hitting the stores x

What? I've never heard of the Fashionary book! That is so awesome. Love these sketches, Philippa. Maybe you should look into fashion design? 🙂

Thank you Katie! I'm not usually that mad on fashion weeks either, but since this sketchbook was made for outfit drawings I felt like I couldn't not draw some FW outfits 😛

I could spend all day looking at fashion illustrations too. And same, I feel like I don't have a style but more a plethora of styles that are constantly evolving.
